What is the Decades Menu?

2024: “Starting October 31, the ‘60s Tostada, ‘70s Green Sauce Burrito, ‘80s Meximelt and ‘90s Gordita Supreme will hit menus, and starting November 21, the ‘00s Caramel Apple Empanada will join the menu, each for under $3* for a limited time.” 2025: “Launching nationwide on September 9, Taco Bell’s Decades Y2K Menu reintroduces the most-hyped items from the golden age of Y2K innovation, all for $3 or less.” “The limited-edition menu features the Caramel Apple Empanada, Cool Ranch® Doritos® Locos Tacos, 7-Layer Burrito, Double Decker Taco, and Chili Cheese Burrito.” 2026: “With the third chapter of its Decades Menu, Taco Bell is helping fans relive 2016 by bringing back four fan-favorite menu items from its 2016 lineup, the Naked Chicken Chalupa, which tested in 2016, Meximelt®, Beefy Crunch Burrito and Caramel Apple Empanada, for a limited time beginning August 20.”

What the reads show now

The 2026 chapter launched nationwide on 20 August; a month later the reads found Naked Chicken Chalupa at 240 of 452 restaurants, Beefy Crunch Burrito at 140 of 452 restaurants and Caramel Apple Empanada at 258 of 452 restaurants. The Meximelt was on none of the menus read under that name.

The idea, as the brand puts it

“Since its founding in 1962, Taco Bell has introduced craveable, Mexican-inspired products, delivering new flavors to fans through its menu innovation and creating a deep vault of favorites that fans are consistently pleading be added back on menus.” Every Decades item is announced at a price with an asterisk; the Beefy Crunch Burrito carried an announced $2.79 against a median read of $2.79.
