Editorial policy

TB Menus publishes only what the brand’s own pages carry: prices read restaurant by restaurant, the brand’s nutrition records and allergen marks, and its rules in its own words; no reviews, no single-restaurant prices, no gluten-free claims and no sponsored content.

Sources, in order

  1. The brand’s own ordering menu, read restaurant by restaurant, for prices, listings and what a listing counts.
  2. The brand’s nutrition menu, ingredient labels and allergen tool, for every nutrition figure and allergen mark.
  3. The brand’s product pages, help center, promotion pages, locators and newsroom, for every rule and every quotation.
  4. Government pages (USDA, FDA, FTC, USPTO) for the programs and standards the brand’s pages refer to.
  5. Nothing else. No news site, blog, forum, delivery app or competitor page is a source for any figure on this site.

Quotations

When a rule is the brand’s, the brand’s words are quoted and the page that carries them is listed under the article. A quotation is verbatim with one typographic exception: this site prints no em or en dashes, so a dash inside a quotation is rendered as a comma, or as the word to between two figures or dates. The linked source carries the original punctuation.

How the pages are written

The pages are assembled by the site’s own software from the data files, which is how 352 pages can apply the same rules to every figure, and they are checked before publication. No figure is typed by hand and no sentence carries a figure the data does not hold. The wording is the publisher’s; the figures and the quotations are the brand’s.

What the site does not publish

  • Reviews, ratings, rankings by taste or testimonials, its own or anyone’s. The FTC’s rule on fake reviews is in the sources for the reader who wants the line drawn.
  • A price from a single restaurant presented as the price, or a price copied from a delivery app.
  • A gluten-free claim for any item, a health claim for any item, or dietary advice.
  • A figure for a restaurant, a location or a promotion the brand’s pages do not carry.
  • Sponsored content, affiliate links or paid placements; the advertising disclosure page covers advertising.

Superlatives

Cheapest, dearest, lightest, heaviest, most protein and the rest are computed from the data at build time and recomputed at every rebuild; a tie names every holder. A superlative is true of the menus read on the read date and says so.

Updates

A page changes when its data changes. The read date on a page is the date its prices were read; the reviewed date at the foot is the date its figures were last checked; the changelog records what moved between reads.
